Business Growth Consultant - Account Management Focus
ROCHESTER, MN

Minnesota Technology, Inc. plays a significant role in strengthening MN businesses and we are seeking 2 talented business professionals to join our statewide network of industry consultants. These positions report to the Director of Sales and are responsible for meeting established production goals through a combination of sales and delivery of client services.
Accountabilities
- 70% Business Development
- Actively prospect for leads, secure appointments with decision makers and propose MTI products and services to target businesses within targeted geographic area and/or industry areas of focus.
- Work with Marketing and peers to source and develop client relationships
- Support peers in sales processes as requested (e.g., develop proposals, respond to client queries, etc.)
- Develop processes to generate repeat and referrals business
- Participate in / support MTI educational events as requested.
- 20% Service Delivery
- Deliver strategic planning and growth products and services (i.e., sales assessments and planning tools) to target clients.
- Support consultant peers in client engagements across the organization.
- Provide superior customer service.
- 10% Administration
- Attend quarterly team meetings in Minneapolis
- Update contact database
- Work collaboratively with peers to improve product offerings and internal processes
- Support the MTI client survey process
Required Skills / Competencies / Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years management experience in multiple functions; prior P/L responsibility
- 3+ years experience in consultative/solutions sales with demonstrated ability to meet a quota
- Candidates who possess knowledge of / experience with leading edge manufacturing principles and processes and/or experience with manufacturing sales, pricing and bidding will be given preferential consideration.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing business strategies
- Ability to work with CEOs/executives to assess business environment and recommend business solutions
- Superior project management skills, combined with a customer service focus
- Outstanding communication skills - 1:1, written and presenting/teaching
- Self-directed, results-driven, and goal-oriented
- Prior consulting experience preferred
- Understanding of key economic development initiatives and organizations in the state of Minnesota preferred.
- Travel up to 30% within the state of Minnesota is likely.
